Domestic Shipping

We ship everything via USPS Priority Mail, so please allow 2-3 days for delivery of items. 
All orders placed before 2pm EST Monday-Friday will be shipped the same day of the order. Orders placed Saturday or Sunday will be shipped on Monday.
We offer free shipping for shopping orders (no ClosetDash Credits used). Use code "FreeShip" at checkout!
We charge a flat $5 shipping fee for all orders using ClosetDash Credits. ClosetDash Credits cannot be applied towards the cost of shipping.
We currently do not offer expedited shipping but are working to incorporate it into our site! Stay tuned!

International Shipping

Purchase orders can now be shipped to all regions of Canada and the United Kingdom...yay! Sorry no swapping yet, but keep an eye out!

We'll keep adding more countries so keep an eye out for that too!
Orders shipped outside the US can incur duties and taxes that are determined by the customs agency within the destination country. Although charges are not always incurred, assessment of duties and taxes will be based on the value of the order and the Tax-free threshold, if it exists, for goods imported into the destination country. Payment of any duties and taxes is the responsibility of the recipient, and these fees are collected at the time of delivery. More information can be obtained by contacting your local customs office.

Returns & Refunds

Domestic Cash Purchases (No ClosetDash Credits Used):
To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it. We want to make sure that you're 100% satisfied with your items because if you're not, we're not!  Just return your items within 30 days of purchase for store credit of the amount you paid for the item. Email us at info[at]closetdash.com with your order number and we'll email you back a prepaid shipping label to use to send your items back . Once we receive the shipment, it will take 24-48 hours to process.

Domestic ClosetDash Credit Purchases:
Because it's such an amazing deal to swap with us and it's super simple to swap an item back, we do not pay for returns on any items purchased with ClosetDash Credits. If an item doesn't work, you can simply swap it back with us by adding it to your swap kit request.

International:
We want to make sure that you're 100% satisfied with your items because if you're not, we're not! Just return your items within 30 days of purchase for a store credit of the amount you paid for the item. However, any shipping fees associated with making returns are the responsibility of the customer and will not be refunded.  Email us at info[at]closetdash.com for more info.

$5 Friday Sales:
Because we are offering you such an amazing deal on pieces for $5 Friday, all sales are final and we cannot accept any returns on $5 Friday items. 

ClosetDash Credits

ClosetDash Credits expire 60 days after issuance. Remember to swap fast, as each garment in our store is unique and items sell quickly!  ClosetDash Credits can be used to purchase anything tagged with the word "ClosetDash Credits." 1 ClosetDash Credit = $1.  So say you have 30 ClosetDash Credits, that is the equivalent of having $30 to shop ClosetDash!

Condition of Items

Everything at ClosetDash is preloved, but all items are thoroughly cleaned and checked for damage before being sold. If you've received an item that is in unsuitable condition, please send an email to info[at]closetdash.com with your order number within 7 days of receiving the item and we'll email you a prepaid shipping label to return the item for ClosetDash Credits. 

Brand Authenticity

We have a team of swapping experts that check the quality, authenticity and suitability of each item available at ClosetDash. If you think you've received an item that is not authentic, send an email to info[at]closetdash.com with your order number within 7 days of receiving the item and we'll email you a prepaid shipping label to return the item for a full store credit.

What do you look for?

Make sure your item is ClosetDash Approved before sending in!  Our guidelines for a ClosetDash Approved  items are as follows:

  1. We only accept women's clothing and bags at this time
  2. Items must be clean and free from rips, stains, odors and dander
  3. We only accept items from brands with an average original retail price of $100 and above. Below is a sample* list of brands we accept:

What won't you accept?

If your item doesn't meet the ClosetDash Approved requirements we will not be able to accept it for swapping, sorry!  We don't accept damaged items with rips, stains or odors so please inspect your items thoroughly and consider it to meet the criteria.  We don't accept items from the brands listed below:

  • Old Navy
  • Gap
  • Express
  • Forever21
  • H&M
  • Brands sold at Target (Mossimo, Merona, etc)
  • Brands sold at Kohl's (AB Studio, Gloria Vanderbilt, etc)
  • Brands sold at KMart (Route 66, Jaclyn Smith, etc)
  • Brands sold at Walmart (White Stag, Jordache, etc)
  • Juniors labels (City Triangles, Speechless, Mandee, Strawberry, Candies, etc)

How many ClosetDash Credits can I get?

That all depends on the brand, condition, style and demand of the item. In general, we tier brands as follows, though these prices can vary depending on condition, style and demand:

    • Banana Republic, Club Monoco, Anthropologie, etc: 5 to 30 CDCs
    • Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, A/X, etc:  10 to 40 CDCs
    • Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Saks Fifth Ave, etc: 50 CDCs and above

Who handles shipping?

We do!  At the Swap page, just let us know how many pieces you're sending in, fill out your address information and submit! We'll send you a Swap Kit which should arrive within 5-10 business days.

I just sent my items. What happens next?

Once we receive the items (you will get a delivery notification email), we will evaluate them and issue you ClosetDash Credits within 48 hours.  You have 60 days from the day of issuance to use them at ClosetDash.com.   After 60 days, your ClosetDash Credits will expire.

I got my credits (yay!) but I received a message that some of my pieces could not be accepted. What next?

We only accept pieces that meet our ClosetDash Approved standards!  We make every effort to keep these standards high when screening clothing for rips, stains, wear and tear (you wouldn't want to receive something like that!) to better serve our community of swappers. We only offer the highest quality (and cutest) pieces to you, which is why we adhere to a strict brand list. So from time to time pieces may not be accepted if they are not ClosetDash Approved.

In these situations, we offer you the option to donate your pieces to our non-profit partner Goodwill NYNJ (you can get a tax receipt if you request it!) or we can return your pieces back to you for a flat fee of $5 (to cover postage).  We will provide a detailed list of which pieces we couldn't accept and wait for you to let us know if wish to donate or have them returned..

What can I use the ClosetDash Credits for?

Anything on the site that is tagged "ClosetDash Credits" or does not state "Not for swap."  Remember 1 ClosetDash Credit = $1

What if I don't agree with the amount of Credits I receive?

We make every effort to ensure a fair swap.  We understand that sometimes there will be disagreements on the amount of credits given and you reserve the right to accept or reject the proposal.  If that is the case, email us at info[at]closetdash.com and we can definitely return your items. Rejected Items requested for return will be shipped to you within 5-10 business days, but we require you to pay a $5 flat-rate shipping cost.

What if I don't have enough Credits to get the items I want?

No worries!  Just pay the difference via credit card at checkout.  So for example, if you have 50 ClosetDash Credits, but that amazing blazer is $75, you would just need to pay the $25 difference (payments accepted via PayPal).

 

ClosetDash Concierge

What is ClosetDash Concierge?

ClosetDash Concierge is an exclusive service we provide for Manhattan residents who live below 120th St!  For a flat rate of $20, we provide white-glove pick up service for your clothing pieces. We sort and separate your clothes, donate appropriate pieces to one of our non-profit partners (Goodwill NYNJ or Bottomless Closet) and give you ClosetDash Credits to shop with for the pieces we can keep! 

What do you pick up through ClosetDash Concierge?

We will pick up any clothing items, which includes clothes, shoes, and bags.

How much is it?

We charge a flat rate of $20 for a pick up. No matter how big, how small or how far (up to 120th st!)

How do I book an appointment?

How far in advance do I need to book my appointment?

Depending on availability, you will be able to book your appointment as late as 48 hours in advance of your pick up! 

How should I pack my items for pick up?

Please try and have all items packed into bags or boxes to make it a little easier for our Couriers to pick up your pieces. 

Can I leave my items with my doorman for pick up?

Of course! Just please make sure your doorman is aware ClosetDash will be coming by to pick up your pieces.

What if I don't have a doorman, can I just leave my items in the hallway or in front of my door?

We don't recommend this option because if we can't get into your building, we won't be able to pick up your pieces, and no one will be happy then! :( ClosetDash will not be responsible for items gone missing if left in hallways so if you cannot be there in person for the pickup, please try and leave them with a neighbor or super. 

How will I get a tax receipt for my donations?

Depending on the policies of the non-profit partner, where possible, ClosetDash will receive a tax receipt on behalf of you and will send you a scanned copy of the receipt to your email. If you would like the physical receipt mailed to you, please provide a self addressed stamped envelope at time of pickup for us to mail you the receipt.

What happens to the pieces you don't donate?

That's good news for you!  You get ClosetDash Credits to use to shop ClosetDash.com! We get hundreds of new items a week so you'll have the option to replace your previous fashions with new ones!

What can I do with ClosetDash Credits?

You can use ClosetDash Credits to purchase most items you see on ClosetDash.com! Remember 1 ClosetDash Credit = $1
